Deliveroo is the first to start delivering meals in Amsterdam via a Rider app (which offers performance bonuses).
June 2015 sourceFoodora expands to the Netherlands (not freelance but app-based). Foodora leaves in 2018.
February 2016 sourceUberEATS follows Deliveroo and also starts delivering meals via an app (and performance bonuses), but uses the freelance model to work with riders.

August 2017 sourceMeal delivery grows during the Covid pandemic. Flash delivery services Gorilla and Getir come online. But leave again after the Covid period.
December 2020 sourceDeliveroo leaves the Netherlands. Riders receive compensation negotiated with FNV.
