Compare E-Bike’s

note: use bonus code GZ0AEEWR to get a €20 discount on your e-bike from www.ebiketogo.com

e-bike bonus code: GZ0AEEWR

I delivered more than 3000 orders on a bicycle. But since I started using an e-bike, I wish I got an e-bike earlier. E-bike’s are safer, faster and cheaper than regular bicycles for all riders (beginners and experienced).

Safer

E-Bike’s are safer because the lights always work. If the lights break, you simply send a whatsapp message or in-app message to your service to replace your bike.

You don’t need to have cash or time to do the repair. The bikes are replaced as soon as possible as soon as there is any issue with them.

The E-bike’s that you can get are tested by thousands of riders that also use the same bike. This means the bike parts are as durable as possible. Your brakes won’t stop working and if they do anyway: you can just get them replaced.

Faster

You don’t have to be physically strong and fit to drive your e-bike. You also don’t get as tired driving an e-bike as you do with a regular bike. This makes your deliveries easier and faster.

You might see regular bikes take over e-bikes on the road all the time, but the regular bikes will not be able to do that for a long time. With an e-bike you can ride as long as the battery lasts, which is 4-5 hours (with the www.ebiketogo.nl e-bike).

Cheaper

I used to spend €50,- in repairs on my bicycle every month (mostly chain + rear cassette, rear tire replacement and brakes). And I used to cut on my repair expenses by delaying repairs and using cheap parts, which made my rides unsafe. With an e-bike subscription I don’t have to that anymore. The repairs are done on time and done with the best parts possible, so I don’t run into repair issues anymore.

Compare E-Bike subscriptions

There are three e-bike services you can get an e-bike from for delivery. They are E-BIKE TOGO, SwapFiets and Urbee. You can find a comparison in the list below.

[wbr-pricing-table id=2435]

All e-bike subscriptions are based on “cancel anytime, no commitment“.

Protect Your Battery

Make sure to protect your battery. Thieves know the batteries can be sold easily, so make sure that you take the battery with you as much as possible during your rides. If you lose the battery, you have to pay the company the cost of losing the battery. Batteries are the most expensive part of your e-bike.

Everything You Need to Know about Freelance Delivery UberEATS

Rider Account Registration with UberEATS

Introduction bonuses available in the following cities: Alkmaar, Almelo, Alphen a/d Rijn, Amersfoort, Den Helder, Dordrecht, Ede, Geleen, Gouda, Heerlen, Hilversum, Kerkrade, Leeuwarden, Maastricht, Nieuwegein, Sittard en Spijkenisse.

Roadmap Account Registration and Sign up

There are a few things to consider when signing up to deliver as a freelance delivery rider for Uber Eats and other delivery services. Consider sales tax id (btw-id), delivery bag, bonuses, safety on the road, e-bike selection, taxes and account activation.

The following is a roadmap with all steps that are necessary to complete your registration and apply for a bonus if one is available for your city. From start to finish the roadmap takes about a week to complete. The costs you will have to make are between €50,- and €100 at least.

You also will have to invest time into learning, reading and watching things about freelance delivery to learn how to do everything. You can do this on www.goridergo.com and on other sites and YouTube channels.

Five Steps to Account Activation

Sign Up For a Uber Eats Account

Register for a UberEATS account.

Use this link to sign up for a Uber Eats account and receive an introduction bonus (€100 – €150). if one is available for your city.

You will have to complete 25 deliveries within 90 days to collect the bonus.

Request a sales tax id (btw-id) number from Tax Authorities (de Belastingdienst)

A sales tax id (btw-id) allows you to log in to the business website of the Tax Authority (de Belastingdienst), where you can declare your three-monthly sales taxes.

Without a sales tax id (btw-id) number your Uber Eats will not be activated. You might be able to go online, but it won’t be possible cash out until you provide a sales tax id (btw-id).

The sales tax (btw-id) request takes at least week to request so start with the request as soon as possible.

Fill in the sales tax id (btw-id) request form, print it out and send it to the address that you find here.

You can find the sales tax id (btw-id) request form here. Print it out, fill it in and send it to:

Belastingdienst, Postbus 2891, 6401 DJ Heerlen

note: you don’t have to register an account with the Chamber of Commerce (KvK) to complete your Uber Eats account sign up.

Rent a ebike or use a bicycle

Decide for yourself if you want to deliver on a regular bicycle or an e-bike, but I recommend you to get a subscription for an e-bike.

Use code GZ0AEEWR for a €20,- bonus discount with www.ebiketogo.nl. I use this e-bike myself. It’s a safe, beautiful, practical, sturdy bike and support is great.

You can complete account sign-up without ordering an e-bike. You can do that later. Whatever you do make sure you have a safe vehicle to do deliveries, because you will be on the road more than you are used to.

For a comparison of e-bike subscriptions check out: this link.

Order a Delivery Bag

UberEATS will send you a link that you can use to order a delivery bag.

The price of a delivery bag usually is around €50,-. If your city is promoted at the time of your registration you might get a free delivery bag.

Order the delivery bag through the link that you have received in your email.

note:  your account will only be activated after you order the delivery bag.

Account Activation

Your account is activated after all the requested documents are uploaded and approved.

You have to have hand in a valid bank account number and a valid sales tax (btw-id) number. You are also required to order a delivery bag via the order link that you receive in your email.

When your account is activated you can go online to receive orders in the Driver app.

From the moment of activation you have 90 days to complete 25 orders to receive the introduction bonus (€100 – €150) on top of the regular delivery fees that you receive.

You can receive an introduction bonus by using the referral links that you find on www.goridergo.com. You have 90 days from the moment of account activation to complete 25 orders.

How-to: Receiving Orders

To receive orders, you need to wait close to a restaurant. The app notifies riders that are closest to the restaurant were the pick up needs to take place.

Try to learn which restaurants do delivery, so you know what the best spots to wait are.

After your first few weeks you will know where all the good spots are.

All McDonalds work with Uber Eats so you can always go to a McDonalds to receive orders as a beginner. After while you will automatically learn where the other restaurants are.

Types of Bonuses

Area Bonuses

Area bonuses are bonuses that multiply your regular delivery fee by 20% or 40% or more. The map in the rider app shows where all the area bonuses are activated and how high the area bonuses are.
The bonuses are common during dinner time between 5 PM and 8 PM, but they also occur on other times.

Quest Bonuses

Quest bonuses are usually activated during bad weather.
For example: when it’s raining you might get a message that Quest is activated and that you can receive extra bonuses for a certain number of consecutive orders within a set time period.
The quest bonus might look like this:
The first 3 orders: extra €3,-
The next 2 orders: another extra €4,-
The next 2 orders: another extra €5,-
So you can get an extra bonus of €12,- on top of your regular fees in that time slot of 5 PM to 8 PM.

Guaranteed Minimum Hourly Rate

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday there is a guaranteed hourly rate for the time slot between 5 PM and 8 PM.
However there are strict requirement to qualify for the guaranteed earnings. You have to deliver 6 orders in 3 hours accept at least 85% of the orders that you get in the Driver app.
If you qualify for the guaranteed earnings rate, then your regular earnings in the 3 hour time slot will be topped up to the guaranteed amount.

Introduction Bonuses

You can receive introduction bonuses by inviting your friends to make an account.
You both get an introduction bonus. Introduction bonuses help beginners cover their startup costs and helps referrers cover their costs as well.
Not all cities offer introduction bonuses.

Statistics

As a rider you can leave feedback about the restaurant that you pick up your order from and you can leave feedback about the customers of the orders.

Restaurants and customers can leave feedback about you too.

You can see the latest 100 reviews that customers have left about you. All the customer reviews are collected and used to calculate a satisfaction score. The higher your score is the better it for you. If you have a higher score you will receive more orders. Restaurants prefer to work with delivery riders that have high customer and restaurant scores.

Taxes

It’s important to know that there are two different kinds of tax to consider as a freelance delivery rider.

There is a yearly income tax (inkomstenbelasting) that is mandatory for all workers. And there is a three-monthly sales tax (omzetbelasting).

Sales Tax

You declare your sales amount every three months with a three-monthly sales tax return. The sales tax is fixed at 21%.

You can decrease the amount of sales tax with input tax (voorbelasting). Input tax is all the money you spent on VAT (btw) for your work-related expenses.

Income Tax

Everyone declares their yearly income with the Tax Authority (de Belastingdienst) each year. The income tax rate is 37.25%.

In practice there are many income tax deductions that you can apply to reduce your income tax a lot.

Sales Tax – Frequently Asked Questions

Income Tax – Frequently Asked Questions

Administration

Receipts for input tax (voorbelasting)

It’s mandatory to record your activities. In practice this means that you have to be able to show and account for your work related expenses and earnings to the Tax Authority.

Take pictures of the paper receipts of your work related expenses. Receipts hold information about work related VAT (BTW) that you use to calculate your input tax amount.

Save these receipts in dedicated folders on your phone. You can find your e-mail receipts easily so you don’t need to save those separately.

Small Business Scheme 2020+

If you don’t want to spend the time and energy to keep records of your work related activities you can apply for the small business scheme of 2020+. This scheme relieves you of the obligation to keep records.

be warned: if you apply for the small business scheme, you can no longer use the vat of work related expenses to calculate input tax. You also earn 21% less than when you are not in the small business scheme.

The small business scheme is unfavorable to small businesses, so I don’t use it myself. Don’t apply to the small business scheme unless you really don’t want to keep records and you are ready to leave some income behind.
